Sophie Schauermann, MSW, LCSW | Founder

With an undergraduate degree in child development and clinical psychology from Tufts University and a graduate degree in social work from the University of Denver, Sophie founded Rooted Rhythm to provide mental health support that children and parents can trust.

Sophie is studied and experienced in play therapy, and EMDR (eye movement desensitization reprocessing) therapy. She has 12 years of experience working closely with children and families in many settings, including the Harvard Medical School's laboratory for youth mental health, the public school system, and community based mental health programs.

Sophie is a licensed clinical social worker in Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, and Texas.

Kate Hirsch, MSW, CSWC | Lead Therapist (Denver, CO)

Kate’s emphasis and dedication to promoting a therapeutic relationship built on mutual trust, respect, and safety are the foundation of her practice with children and their families. By honoring the child’s pace and sense of autonomy, she creates an environment where processing and healing can occur.

Drawing from over a decade of experience working with children in both clinical and non-clinical settings, Kate is an attuned and empathetic therapist who relies on her creativity to implement engaging and healing interventions. Most recently, she worked as an early childhood therapist, predominantly serving children with ADHD, anxiety, and trauma from ages 2 to 12.

Kate graduated from both Elon University with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, and New York University, where she earned her Masters degree in Social Work. Kate understands and believes in the importance of play as a means of communication for kiddos, and predominantly implements tenets of Synergetic Play Therapy (SPT), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), and Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) into her practice.

Kendall Schauermann, MA, LPCC | Client Services Manager

Kendall specializes in, supporting fathers of young children, grief and loss, and healthy masculinity. He often supports men who have been living in anxiety or depression, and who are ready to find meaning and purpose in their lives. Kendall has experience with individuals in hospice care and people with dementia, as well as supporting their families. When working with children and teens, Kendall specializes in supporting boys ages 5-17 with feelings of anger, depression, and anxiety.

Kendall has a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the Contemplative Psychotherapy and Buddhist Psychology program at Naropa University. He has completed several Psychedelic Assisted Therapy trainings including the Transpersonal Research Institute of Psychotherapeutic Psychedelics KAP Clinician Training and Beyond the Mind’s Integrated Somatic Interventions Program.

Joel Ciarochi, MD, MBA | Chief of Operations

Joel, who is a board-certified anesthesiologist and MBA-holding serial entrepreneur, brings a new level of clinical excellence, compliance, and oversight to the talented and dedicated Rooted Rhythm team. He has served in many executive and advisory roles in such companies and helped bring them to greater levels of community impact. 

As a father of three grown children, Joel brings both life experience and genuine care to Rooted Rhythm's work with families. Joel's education includes Rice University (BA), University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (MD), University of Texas Southwestern Medical School Parkland Memorial Hospital (Anesthesiology), and Southern Methodist University Cox School of Business (EMBA).


Nicole Soto, MSW, LMSW | Therapist (Atlanta, GA)

Dedicated to effectively supporting sensitive children and their families, Nicole offers a grounded and healing presence for parents and their children to experience enlightening transformations towards their highest potential. 

Nicole graduated from Adelphi University with a masters in social work and holds a Licensed Master’s Social Worker (LMSW) certification in both the states of New York and Georgia. She has specialized training and experience in Psychodynamic Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Mindfulness Based Interventions. Nicole has provided individual, group, and family therapy for children, teens, families, and young adults in nonprofits and outpatient settings. 

She has a heart for working with children, adolescents, and young adults who have experienced trauma, depression, anxiety, ADHD, stress, anger, and who may be experiencing difficulty adjusting to various life transitions. Nicole’s expertise also supports parents and children in improving communication, resolving conflicts, and helping each family member better understand one another.

 

Misty Heins, MS | Therapist (Dallas, CO)

Misty Heins is a mental health specialist with expertise in Autism/ADHD coaching for adolescents and parents, creative arts therapies, ecopsychology, mindfulness-based practices, somatic therapies, and integrative transpersonal coaching. She holds an MA in Transpersonal Psychology from Sofia University and certifications in Ecopsychology and Yoga.

Misty has experience working as an individual and group therapist, and as a freelance writer, with publications on mindfulness, psychology, and trauma healing. She is also trained in multiple therapeutic modalities including somatic awareness, expressive arts, and trauma-focused therapy.

As a mom of a teenager and adult child, Misty brings both life experience and authentic compassion to her work with individuals and families.  

 

 

Alena Brocker, MSW, CSWC | Therapist (Denver, CO)

Through a strengths based, client centered approach rooted in the belief that children are resilient and capable of experiencing authentic feelings, Alena approaches her work with children and families from a place of non judgemental curiosity, and collaboration. Alena prioritizes creating a holding environment that feels safe for all individuals, and seeks to support the autonomy and self determination of children and adolescents, helping them feel capable of positive self direction. 

With a background in dance and movement, Alena has years of experience working with children as a creative movement instructor, yoga instructor, and a nature based educator. She has experience in school social work and community mental health supporting children, adolescents and families through a variety of modalities including non directive play therapy, creative arts therapies, DBT, and mindfulness, and has been trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, (ACT) Motivational Interviewing (MI) and child centered play therapy. 

Alena graduated from SUNY Purchase with a Bachelor's degree in Sociology and a focus on child development and education, and earned her Master of Social Work (MSW) from Smith College School for Social Work. She recognizes the importance of entering the child’s world of play, and the importance of play as a means of communication and self expression. 


Sara Galaso, MSW, LMSW | Therapist (Dallas, TX)

Providing a safe space to process big emotions, Sara empowers clients in effectively developing their connection to themselves and strengthening bonds with others.

After years of intensively supporting (migrant and refugee) families, Sara obtained her graduate degree in social work from the University of Texas in Arlington specializing in children and families. She has specialized training and experience in navigating grief and loss due to major life changes, such as death, divorce, infertility and faith deconstruction. She is trained in play therapy and ketamine assisted psychotherapy to support children and women in connecting more deeply to their wellness.

Sara’s three teenage daughters have been her greatest teachers, and she loves witnessing them develop their talents and explore their own sense of identity in the world.

Sara is also fluent in Spanish and able to offer culturally responsive services to Spanish speaking families.

 

Nicole Butler | Therapist (Denver & Colorado Springs, CO)

Nicole Butler specializes in supporting highly sensitive and gifted children, providing compassionate guidance to families navigating behavioral challenges at school, home, or in relationships. She understands that the frustration and exhaustion parents feel are often mirrored by their children, who may struggle with emotional regulation.

Currently pursuing her Master of Social Work online at the University of Oklahoma, Nicole’s approach is grounded in a deep understanding of the unique needs of sensitive children. She uses play therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy to help children process their emotions, creating a safe and nurturing environment. Nicole also works closely with parents, offering coaching to foster a more harmonious family dynamic.

Nicole’s holistic approach draws on her extensive experience in NGO program design, conflict resolution, and peer counseling. With a postgraduate certificate in world religion and diplomacy from George Mason University, she brings a unique interdisciplinary perspective to her practice. She considers both her clients' internal experiences and the external systems that shape their lives.

As president of the Online Social Work Student Association and an interdisciplinary social justice fellow, Nicole empowers families with the tools they need to navigate their mental health journey with confidence.

Erin Clack Nora, LSW | Therapist (Denver, CO)

Erin recently returned to clinical work after moving to Denver from Taos, then taking a maternity leave. Erin earned a Master of Social Work in direct practice mental health at the University of Texas at Arlington in Arlington, Texas, where her coursework included cognitive-behavioral intervention; treatment of addictive behaviors; social policy; stress, crisis and coping; and intimate partner violence. Her undergraduate degree is a BA in Literary Studies and in Sociology from the University of Denver.

Following her practicum experiences at family therapy centers during graduate school, Erin spent 5 years as director of a child therapy  program in Taos, utilizing DBT, CBT, mindfulness, play therapy, trauma therapy and EMDR.

Erin has in depth knowledge of and experience in supporting trauma, depression, anxiety, behavioral struggles, family relationships, gender identity, & grief. She enjoys working with children, teens, and adults.  

Victoria Mancinelli, MSW | Therapist (Denver, CO)

Drawing on years of working in both the non-profit sector and in the school setting, Victoria values connecting with young people and parents exactly where they are. Victoria has spent years in practice with neuro and cognitive diverse individuals - and supports them in authentically celebrating their uniqueness.

Victoria graduated from the University of South Florida with a degree in psychology and concentrations Women and Gender Studies, and African American Studies. She applies tenets of trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TFI-CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy( DBT), solution focused brief therapy (SFBT), somatic therapy, and relational understanding to her practice.

As a mother of two, Victoria offers life experience (in addition to her clinical expertise) to parents.

 

Paige Davies, MSW, CSWC | Therapist (Denver, CO)

Paige is a warm and deeply empathetic therapist who believes that authentic
connection is the heart of healing. With 5 years of experience working in clinical
and non-clinical settings with families and children, Paige is passionate about helping
couples and families work together to overcome generational cycles.

Guided by the belief that therapeutic work should start from a place of trust and
bravery, Paige approaches her clients holistically and works to create a space where
they can show up authentically and feel fully accepted. In her work, she honors the
wisdom of the body and works with clients to reconnect with, listen to, and process their
body’s experiences. Paige has particular experience and interest in working with trauma, neurodivergence, and anxiety in children and adults.

Paige graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science in
Psychology and from Metropolitan State University of Denver, where she earned a
Masters degree in Social Work. Approaching clients with a relational focus, Paige
primarily implements somatic and body-based interventions, play therapy, Internal
Family Systems (IFS), and psychoanalytical psychotherapy.

 

Amy Harmon, MA, LCSW, RPT, ACS | Clinical Supervisor

An experienced Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Amy is deeply committed to supporting children, families, and fellow therapists. With over 15 years of experience, she has come to understand that the well-being of helpers is crucial for a sustainable and effective system of care. Amy's dedication to providing clinical supervision that fosters growth, resilience, and reflective practice ensures that both clients and therapists thrive in their roles.

Amy received her Bachelor’s degree from Marquette University and her Master’s in Clinical Social Work from the University of Chicago. As a bilingual (Spanish/English) clinician, her areas of expertise include working with children and families from diverse socio-cultural backgrounds in the areas of trauma, attachment injuries, emotion regulation, behavioral concerns, perinatal mental health, and parent coaching. 

In both her therapeutic and supervisory work, Amy is guided by her values of authenticity, attunement, curiosity, and social justice. Her deep, personal understanding of the challenges and joys of parenting further informs her compassionate and holistic approach.


Sofia Panzenhagen, MEd | Parent Coach

Sofia is passionate about empowering parents to understand and nurture the unique gifts of highly sensitive children. She collaborates with families to develop essential skills and tools that cultivate strong, positive relationships and desired outcomes.

With over a decade of experience supporting students and parents through academic, mental health, and educational challenges, Sofia brings a wealth of expertise to her coaching practice. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Sociology and a Master’s degree in School Counseling from the University of Maryland.

As a mother of two, Sofia infuses her coaching with personal insight and empathy, guiding families to build resilience and thrive together. Her approach is both compassionate and effective, helping parents navigate the complexities of raising highly sensitive children with confidence.


Elana Cohen, MSW, LCSW | Therapist (Denver & Lakewood, CO)

Elana Cohen is a dedicated Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over a decade of diverse experience in mental health, education, and family therapy. She holds licenses in Colorado, Utah, and Massachusetts, and has extensive expertise in trauma-informed care, experiential therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, positive psychology, and supporting highly sensitive children. Elana has worked in a variety of settings, including schools, outpatient clinics, wilderness therapy, and substance abuse recovery programs.

Passionate about helping individuals and families navigate challenges through a holistic and strengths-based approach, Elana has experience facilitating intensive outpatient programs, supporting clients in wilderness and school environments, and providing in-home family therapy. She specializes in helping children, teenagers, adults, and families resolve issues related to addiction, anxiety, depression, trauma, family systems, and developing functional skills for ADHD.

Elana earned her Master of Social Work from Westfield State University and holds a second Master’s degree in Environmental Education from Lesley University, which complements her focus on experiential learning and healing.
